Welcome to project Desert Star.

This site is dedicated to the people and companies who are helping me restore and update Desert Star.

Desert Star is a 34' Broads cruiser built by Jack Powles & Co Ltd of Wroxham and registered in 1953 (To be confirmed) Mahogany and construction.  She is powered by a Perkins 4107 diesel engine. 

This is the first picture I took of her after completing the purchase.  Doesn't look to bad does she, a plank here, some varnish there and a bit of a tidy up yes. NO what you are actually looking at is beautifully designed boat that needs a semi rebuild.  In the following pages you will see some of rot and bodged repairs that have been done to her.
