First we came up with a design plan then had the whole boat sand blasted to reveal any unseen damage, OH MY look at what we found. There are 5 PINE planks under the water line, the deck and cabin roof lino was put ontop of untreated thin plywood and nailed down with STEEL nails (causing electrolosis) so yes that was all rotten, Because she has been left for so long all the nails have gone rusty and caused a lot of rot. Both combings are rotten and need replaceing, water has got in around the wheel house causing rot and she has started to misshape. Whilst stripping out we found more broken ribs and rotten bulk heads. I Have now taken her off the tripod brackets that were pushing the hull up and have replaced them with barrels. Yes I know it looks like we are going backwards but there is no point patching it up on a boat like this, you would only have to do it again later. If you notice the big oblong hole in the front of the deck its beceause I have decided to extend the combings by 2' to give us more headroom in the front cabin.
